Llanelli’s North Dock area is to benefit from a play area.
Work is underway on the £106,000 Millennium Coastal Park nautical themed facility and work is expected to last four weeks.
The grassed facility will include sea lion, dolphin and shark springers, a pirate crew cabin, bird nest and flat seat swings, an octopus seesaw, stepping pods plus much more.
Carmarthenshire County Council secured Section 106 money through planning conditions on a local development to fund the leisure facility.
The playground is situated in front of the main car park.
The council’s executive board member for regeneration and leisure, Cllr Mery Gravell said said: “We are delighted to have secured Section 106 for the community as a whole. Having this opportunity to secure another first class attraction will encourage more visitors to our facilities at North Dock.”
