Penny Edwards has been elected the new Carmarthenshire County Councillor for the Hengoed ward.
A by-election was held yesterday following the death of former councillor George Edwards. Results of the by election are as follows:
- Martin Davies – Plaid Cymru – 313
- Stephen Davies – Welsh Conservatives – 54
- Penny Edwards – Welsh Labour – 335
- Bramwell Gordon Richards – UKIP – 152
- Wynford Samuel – People First – 80
- Edward Skinner – Independent – 76
The turnout was 35.32%
