60,000 people have helped push tax dodging up the political agenda, but we need to keep the pressure up to show that we still expect more to be done.
All day today George Osborne’s new Budget has been in the news. He had a real opportunity to make sure the government cracked down on tax dodging and propose ambitious policies that will make tax fair.
Unfortunately while the proposals in today’s Budget are a step in the right direction, they didn’t go far enough.
Politicians across the parties are still letting the money slip through their fingers. We need to make as much noise as possible to show them that this isn’t good enough.
If you are on Twitter please take action now and tell all the political parties that only a new law to crack down on tax dodging will do.
Over 85% of people in the UK want more action against tax dodging – but our politicians still aren’t doing enough to close the loopholes and recoup billions of pounds for developing countries and the UK.
We need as many people to take action as possible ahead of the general election in May. If you aren’t on Twitter, or want to do more, please forward this link to your friends to ask them to support the campaign for a new law to help crack down on tax dodging: www.actionaid.org.uk/tax-dodging-bill
