About the GE and ME

Charles de Gaulle once said that ‘politics is too serious a matter to be left to the politicians.’ Whether you like it or not, the only certain way of ensuring that you have an input in politics is to make sure that you use your right to vote and, before you do, take the time necessary to select the candidate that you believe is most likely to make decisions that you can live with.

The West Wales Chronicle understands that people may be so disillusioned with politicians that they may decide not to use their vote at all. Equally, the newspaper understands that people are confused about who to vote for.

With this in mind, the West Wales Chronicle is going to be talking about politics with the people that you, our readers, can relate to. Up until the UK general election on the 7th May, we will be asking someone who represents a section of the electorate to tell us what their general election voting intentions are. From a self-employed person to a pensioner, you can be sure that we will be talking to someone with whom you can identify and who leaves you thinking: “That’s me. That’s what the general election means to me.”

The West Wales Chronicle will publish the transcript of each interview on the site so please check back regularly to catch up with the latest in our series of voter profiles.
