Have you emerged from a Netflix binge only to crave more entertainment while your eyeballs re-lubricate and you’ve remembered how to blink? Then you need a podcast and you could do far worse than checking out the list of fine audio peddlers below.

 First up is The Nerdist Podcast, a weekly interview show hosted by comedian and  presenter Chris Hardwick, accompanied by comedians Jonah Ray and Matt  Mira. Guests are varied, but are usually from the world of stand-up  comedy, nerd culture, or both. Interviews typically take place in the guest’s home,  with each episode lasting about an hour.

 

Set your radio’s dial to spooky as Next up is The Thrilling Adventure Hour, a staged comedy show in the style of old timey radio.  Each episode is made up of three segments covering sci-fi, supernatural and adventure stories. The show is written by Ben Acker and Ben Blacker and directed by Aaron Ginsburg. Each segment is about 20 minutes and episodes are monthly.

 

 

 Next up is Less Than Live with Kate or Die a bi-weekly podcast created and hosted by  best-  selling comic creator Kate Leth. Discussions include the world of comics as well as  projects  she is working on. Kate answers questions from listeners and interviews other  comic  creators.

 

 

 

 Penultimately we have SUPEREGO.  Presented as a collection of psychological case  studies under the banner of ‘Analytical Pscience.’ The was created by  Jeremy Carter and  Matt Gourley. Each month they present case studies of characters with various  personality disorders.

Nearly all the sketches are completely improvised in each recording session.

 

 

 Lastly is Welcome To Night Vale, a podcast in the form of a community radio show for  the fictional town of Night Vale, Where every conspiracy theory and urban legend is just  part of everyday life in the small desert town. The series was created is written  by Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor, and is hosted by Cecil Baldwin. Episodes run from  20 to 30 minutes and the show airs on the first and fifteenth of every month.
