The Hub, in Llanelli Town Centre which is usually a one stop shop for employment, training, education and volunteering opportunities for clients and employers has added another string to its bow!

Today (Friday 27th March) it was used by one of its clients for them to showcase their products. Twisty Pix Crafts which is run by Sonia Pearce was given the opportunity to show her craft talents and display her stock.

Sonia Pearce had called into The Hub for self-employment advice, and after working with Un Sir Gar, Remploy, A4E Enterprise and Jobcentre Plus is now successfully self-employed.

Rhydian Anderson, Hub Information Officer said: “It’s been great to see Sonia come here and use the personal support that we and other organisations provide for someone with an original idea.”

On hand to support Sonia and pick a gift were Remploy, A4E Enterprises and Jobcentre Plus.

“I don’t know how I would have gone self employed if it wasn’t for the Hub and their partners. I tried before but everyone was so separated.”

“I’ve had a really good time today, making and selling crafts. I’ve also networked with a lot of people and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the Hub and its Partners for all of the help and support I’ve recieved.”

The Hub was born out of the UnSir Gar/One Carmarthenshire web and phone service delivered by Carmarthenshire County Council with support from JCP and Careers Wales staff. It offers a one-stop shop service for employment, training, education and volunteering opportunities for clients and employers.
