Scarlets head to Parma this weekend to take on Zebre Rugby at Stadio Lanfranchi in the hunt for their first away win of the season.

Scarlets’ last victory on the road came in Italy, against Benetton Treviso, and the Region will be keen to repeat the result on Saturday against Zebre Rugby.

Speaking ahead of his side’s clash in the Guinness PRO12 head coach Wayne Pivac said: “Our focus is grand final week, it’s a must win game and that’s how we’re approaching it.

“As disappointed as we were to drop that home game against Edinburgh, the first one in over a year, we can turn it around now. Let’s turn it around and get the first away win to counter that.

“We’re certainly focused on the win and to win at all costs.”

The two sides have met on five previous occasions, with the only time that Scarlets haven’t won being a 16-all draw in Parma in October 2013.

Pivac went on to say: “There shouldn’t be any lack of energy or motivation this week. There really are no excuses for us not to perform.

“The Italian teams are a different beast home and away. They pick their games; home games are ones they want to do well in. They’ve won a few at home this season. Their motivation is no different to ours, they’re only four points behind Treviso for qualification. Both teams have a lot to play for.

“We don’t see them as bottom of the league, we see them as four points off Europe with a lot to play for and that’s how we’re approaching it.”

Scarlets have received a fitness boost ahead of the round 19 game with fullback Liam Williams making a return after suffering a thigh haemotoma.
