National Driver Offender Re-Training Courses
Dyfed-Powys Police are looking for interested individuals to be part of team of trainers to deliver driver training courses in both a classroom and practical on-road environment. Dyfed-Powys Police are specifically looking for both English & Welsh language trainers who are qualified Advanced Driving Instructors and can also provide an automatic vehicle for the delivery of practical training sessions. These individuals must be prepared to cover both the Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion areas.
The educational courses are delivered to a national standard under the guidance of the National Driver Offending Retraining Scheme (NDORS) and the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO). The courses aim to examine the reasons for driver offending and to outline to drivers the consequences associated with their driving. Coping strategies are then given to help the individual avoid becoming a road casualty statistic.
Trainers will work alongside Dyfed-Powys Police staff to deliver the courses on a non-contractual basis and will be expected to deliver to a wide audience of varied age, driving experience and background. They will also need to have experience in presenting to diverse groups, to be confident in a training environment and have the ability to manage competing demands.
For further information in respect of the Trainer specification, training standards, financial and administrative arrangements, please contact meinir.gardner@dyfed-powys.pnn.police.ukor call on 01267 239107. Any expressions of interest should be submitted by 1st May 2015.
