Residents of Pantyffynnon have had a chance to have a go at a range of workshops including bike maintenance, hairdressing, nail manicures, cake decorating, fashion session, interior design, energy efficiency and e-learning.
The Communities First team organised the Have a Go event at Elim Church in Pantyffynnon.
The event focused on community members over the age of 16 gaining the opportunity to trail a variety of subjects to increase their awareness of the subject areas.
It was a practical day and comments from community members included ‘great chance to trial a variety of subjects’, ‘decorating a cake was fun and something I’d like to try again’, and ‘tutors were really interesting and friendly’.
The Communities’ First team aims to contribute, alongside other programmes, to narrowing the health, skills, economic and education gaps between disadvantaged and affluent areas.
