The Welsh Government has launched a marketing campaign to urge the public to contact the Welsh Government’s Resource Efficient Wales helpline.

Resource Efficient Wales (external link), provides reliable information and advice on how to reduce your energy bills, generate renewable energy or reduce waste in your home.

The helpline (0300 123 2020), which was launched by the Natural Resources Minister in October, is open from 9am – 5pm on weekdays, and provides a single trusted point of contact for information on resource efficiency.

Natural Resources Minister Carl Sargeant said:

“We have all received dubious cold calls offering us access to government schemes to save money on home insulation or solar panels.  Sometimes these cold calls provide conflicting information which can leave people confused and unsure of what decision they should take.

“Resource Efficient Wales is there to explain about the services that are available, and to help people find the most appropriate solution for them.

“In recent years there has been a great deal of change in the help and support available for people and organisations seeking to use resources more efficiently. Increases in utility bills are having major impacts on households, businesses and on the voluntary and public sectors.

“I want people to be reassured that if they phone the Resource Efficient Wales service, they will get help that they can trust from the Welsh Government, including information on what Government funding is available.”
