Young go-karters from youth clubs all over the County enjoyed a thrilling Grand Prix-style championship final last week.
Connah Urquhart of Fishguard Youth Club won the title of Pembrokeshire Youth go-karting champion after the event at West Wales Karting in Haverfordwest.
Participating in the competition were youth clubs from Goodwick, Fishguard, Letterston, Pembroke Dock, Milford Haven, Neyland and Tenby.
The runner-up was Jack Oatley from Letterston Youth Club, while Tristan Cardy from Tenby Youth Club came third.
The event was organised by Pembrokeshire Youth – Pembrokeshire County Council’s Youth Service.
Each youth club had previously held their own Grand Prix Race Night, and the fastest drivers from each event went on to the Pembrokeshire-wide final on 22nd April.
“Well done to all the young people who participated in the final and for West Wales Karting for hosting the event, and well done Connah, what a fantastic achievement!” said Stephen Lewis, Community Youth Worker at Fishguard Youth Club.
Liz Griffiths, Deputy Manager of the Community Youth Team, added: “The Pembrokeshire Youth Go-Karting event was a good way to bring young people from the county’s youth clubs together and take part in an event that they enjoy.
“As a Youth Service we encourage young people to participate in social opportunities in a safe and accessible environment.”
