A new playground has opened at Llanelli’s North Dock.

The nautical themed grassed facility at the Millennium Costal Park is situated in front of the main car park.

It’s already proving popular with visitors, and attractions include sea lion, dolphin and shark springers, a pirate crew cabin, bird nest and flat seat swings, an octopus seesaw, stepping pods plus much more.

Carmarthenshire County Council secured Section 106 money through planning conditions on a local development to fund the leisure facility.

The council’s countryside and coast manager, Rory Dickinson said: “We’re thrilled to have this new play area and everybody seems to be enjoying what it has to offer.”
