WITH a massive line-up of events already planned for 2015, Swansea Council has teamed up with 96.4 The Wave and Swansea Sound as its official radio partner for 2015.
This partnership will help promote an event line-up ranging from the Wales National Airshow to the charming tale of Peter Rabbit at Oystermouth Castle.
Enjoy Swansea Bay is the new marketing campaign that aims to put smiles on faces and bums on seats in 2015. Backed by Swansea Council, the campaign will ensure that everyone is aware of great events like the Wales National Airshow and Waterfront Winterland and, as an added attraction, The Wave and Swansea Sound will be broadcasting directly from many events this year.
Helen Bowden, Managing Director at the Wave and Swansea Sound, said: “The Enjoy Swansea Bay campaign was something we were keen to support as the radio station has recognised the value of the exciting events programme put on and co-ordinated by the Council each year.
“Our team is excited to be working with Swansea Council’s events team as we all share the same passion for Swansea and the objective to raise its profile further and reach new audiences. We’re really looking forward to being part of the reason to visit some of the major events taking place this year”.
Cllr Robert Francis-Davies, Swansea Council’s Cabinet Member for Enterprise, Development and Regeneration, said “Events play a major role in the visitor economy and can be a real driver for and of tourism. We’ve got an exciting events calendar which both visitors and the people of Swansea and the region will enjoy. Our new and innovative Enjoy Swansea Bay marketing campaign perfectly complements our successful Visit Swansea Bay destination marketing campaign.
“Our partnership with The Wave and Swansea Sound will be a formidable and very productive one for all of us. It’s great product supported by great promotion and we look forward to achieving record numbers at events this year.
“The Enjoy Swansea Bay campaign will make sure that our residents and visitors realise that they are spoilt for choice by the range of things to see and do throughout the year. The Wave and Swansea Sound had some really innovative ideas as part of their pitch to us and we really look forward to working with them this year.”
Enjoy Swansea Bay has a dedicated website at www.enjoyswanseabay.com and local event organisers are encouraged to upload their events and become part of the campaign.
