Schoolchildren in Llanelli are being treated to a visit from Ffranki the Ffwrnes mascot.

Over two days the colourful theatre mascot is visiting 13 schools across the town and will chat with youngsters on the forthcoming stage shows, based on the popular children’s BBC TV hit series, Horrible Histories.

The Groovy Greeks and Incredible Invaders will take centre stage when The Birmingham Stage Company arrive at the town’s theatre for school productions on May 20 and 21.  Both matinee and evening public performances are available on May 22, 23 and 24.

Using 3D special effects the shows are guaranteed to thrill as historical figures and events come alive on stage.

Former Five Roads and St John Lloyd’s School pupil, turned TV star, Laura Dalgleish will make an appearance playing Boudicca, Mrs Caracatus and Eric the Viking in Invaders and Helen of Troy and the goddess Athena in Greeks.

Each show is two hours long and a great treat for all the family.

The council’s Ffwrnes Theatre manager, Carwyn Matera-Rogers said: “We’re delighted to bring this production to the town and all the family can experience first-hand the fun and historical way of depicting events. It’s perfect entertainment for all those aged from 5 to 105!”

Tickets are available now by visiting the box office or call 0845 226 3510, or book online
