A man has been fined £75 for failing to clean up after his dog at Raven Park in Garnant after he was seen by a member of the public.
The witness reported the incident to the council’s environmental enforcement unit so that action could be taken against him.
He was issued with a fixed penalty notice as a result.
Executive Board Member for Environmental and Public Protection Cllr Jim Jones said: “Failing to clean up after your dog in a public place is against the law.
“The park is used by families with children and dog mess left anywhere can have serious health implications. The majority of dog owners are responsible but there are a few that do not care. This will not be tolerated and we will not hesitate to take action against people that break the law in this way.
“Keeping Carmarthenshire clean and safe is a top priority.”
