Europe Day has been celebrated this week by the European team at Pembrokeshire County Council.
The day marks the signing of the first treaty in 1950 which has led to the creation of what is now the European Union.
Marking the occasion by raising the profile of European funding achievements, the Council took to Twitter to promote project successes achieved across the county.
The projects were made possible through the latest European funding programme, which has brought in excess of £50 million grant to the County.
A display was erected in County Hall reception with lots of information for members of the public including general facts on the EU and also good news stories on EU projects.
The canteen in County Hall also featured a ‘taste of Europe’ menu, with daily specials from various countries.
The current programme has helped to develop a range of ground-breaking projects for the benefit of Pembrokeshire residents, businesses and visitors both countywide and at a South West Wales level through partnership working with a range of public, private and third sector organisations.
Plans are already well underway to apply for EU funding under the new 2014 – 2020 Programmes.
