Prime Welsh beef, advanced mobile application technologies and a new line of video products providing live analysis of professional team sports are just some of the services and products being show cased in South Africa next week as part of a Welsh Government led trade mission.

A range of key sectors in Wales, including ICT, Food & Drink and Energy are taking part in the mission (June 6-13) which will visit Cape Town and Johannesburg.

Economy Minister, Edwina Hart said:

“This mission is a key part of our international trade programme to help stimulate business growth and explore export opportunities to new and established markets. As an advanced consumer of the latest on offer from international sources, South Africa offers opportunities for companies working across the sectors.

“Last year, Wales exported £50.3 million of goods and services to South Africa, something this mission aims to build upon. By connecting delegates with like minded businesses in two of South Africa’s most developed and promising cities this mission provides an ideal platform for us to build on established links and discuss future investment opportunities.

“We have a diverse range of businesses participating in our latest trade mission ranging from highly sophisticated and advanced telecommunication companies, through businesses specialising in health and safety procedures to mitigate risks in high hazard industries to Welsh food products and data security software. It highlights the depth and breadth of Welsh expertise across the sectors, from prime cuts of meat to cutting edge technologies.”
