OPERA fans are in for a treat with the screening of La Boheme in Swansea later this week.
The Puccini classic will be broadcast live from London’s Royal Opera House on Castle Square’s Big Screen on Wednesday evening (June 10) at 7.30pm.
The award-winning production stars Anna Netrebko and Joseph Calleja.
Swansea Council runs Castle Square’s big screen.
La Boheme is set in a Bohemian 1830s Paris where the colourful and vibrant Latin Quarter contrasts against a tender and ultimately tragic love story. The story of a penniless poet and a seamstress begins on Christmas Eve where the two meet, but their happiness is threatened when Rodolfo discovers that Mimì is gravely ill.
The big screen shows coverage of a variety of sporting events as well as cultural activities and films.
