THE call is going out for caring Swansea couples, families and individuals to consider fostering.

Swansea Council’s Foster Swansea organisation is pulling out all the stops to encourage more people to take up a fulfilling career in caring for children and young people.

During Foster Care fortnight they have been taking part in everything from face-to-face events to sponsored walks to spread the word.

Cllr Christine Richards, Swansea Council’s Cabinet Member for Services for Children and Young People, said: “There is potentially no job which is more likely to change a child or young person’s life for the better than fostering.

“Foster Swansea is our own,  home-grown fostering organisation.  It is an outstanding service.

“There’s a whole range of opportunities to make a difference to a child or young person available through Foster Swansea and I would urge anyone interested to take up the opportunity to get in touch and find out more.”

Foster Care Fortnight goes on until June 14.

The latest Foster Swansea face-to-face session is being held on June 11 from 6pm to 8pm at West Cross Community Centre where there will be a chance to find out more about fostering and connect with foster carers.

There will also be a session on June 13 at Tesco’s Llansamlet Store.
