Scarlets have today issued a medical update as the players and coaching staff prepare to return to Parc y Scarlets for the 2015-16 Guinness PRO12 and European Rugby Champions Cup season in the coming weeks.

Top try scoring winger Harry Robinson underwent surgery to a significant neck injury. He’s now recovering well and at the early stages of his rehabilitation process. Robinson is expected to be out of action for up to three months.

Jordan Williams underwent successful elective shoulder surgery whilst hooker Emyr Phillips underwent shoulder surgery after an injury sustained in action for Llandovery in April; both are recovering well and due to make a return to pre-season training mid August and early August respectively.

Centre Steffan Hughes and outside half Josh Lewis underwent knee reconstruction surgery; both are continuing to progress well and both are on course to return as planned in January 2016 and October respectively.

Outside half Steven Shingler and tighthead prop Peter Edwards underwent shoulder surgery at the end of the 2014-15 season. Both players have started the rehabilitation process and will move to the next stage next week when they return to Parc y Scarlets.

Second row Richard Kelly sustained a broken forearm in the European Rugby Champions Cup clash against Leicester Tigers at Parc y Scarlets in October 2014. Kelly had a plate removed from his arm and is now under extensive rehabilitation.

Loosehead prop Phil John had a surgical approach on his elbow for a longstanding issue and will return as planned to full pre-season training.

Scarlets internationals were handed over to the WRU’s medical team ahead of the Rugby World Cup campaign.

The first wave of players will return to Parc y Scarlets for pre-season training next week with the remainder joining early July.
