Explosive drill sites ripping through our countryside. Dirty chemicals in the ground, just a few feet from our homes. That could be the reality if we don’t act together quickly to stop Lancashire Council voting for fracking next week. It’s a landmark decision that could open the floodgates for fracking in the rest of the UK. [1]
38 Degrees members helped to make a shocking two minute video that proves just how dangerous fracking really is. If enough 38 degree members chip in a few pounds each today, we can promote it across the internet – on Facebook, YouTube and on news websites – to make sure that thousands of people in Lancashire see it this weekend.
When the council sees this video spreading across the web, they’ll know that they can’t get away with giving fracking the green light. Click here to watch the video, and then chip in to spread it far and wide:
It’s the final vote. Fracking is dirty, dangerous and a disaster for our climate – and if it gets the green light next week, it’ll be much easier for dirty energy companies to rip through the rest of our countryside around the UK. [2]
Big business and big politicians are pushing hard for councillors to vote yes. But so far, uproar from thousands of ordinary people coming together has stopped them. We’ve sent thousands of emails to councillors, blanketed Lancashire in posters and flooded local papers with letters of opposition. [3] And we’re not giving up yet.
If enough of us chip in, we can get this video across the internet – on Facebook, YouTube and on news websites – to make sure the council feels our pressure. If we raise £10,000 this weekend, we can make sure it’s seen by over 80,000 people. Watch the video and chip in here:

38 Degrees stands for local people having a say over the future of their communities. If there was ever a time to rally behind the people of Lancashire and throw everything we’ve got to stop fracking in the UK, it’s now.
It’s people power that’s protected our countryside so far – and it’s people power that’ll stop Lancashire Council voting with big business next week. Please watch this video and chip in whatever you can afford to stop fracking in our lovely fields and valleys:
