Carmarthenshire Museum has staged an exhibition of work by county pupils who have taken part in the Welsh Heritage Schools Initiative.
The Chair of Carmarthenshire County Council Cllr Peter Hughes-Griffiths has visited the exhibition to see for himself the wide range of work created by the youngsters.
The schools that have participated in the past have used the opportunity offered by the competition to develop the Cwricwlwm Cymreig and used the research opportunities to enhance a range of educational skills.
There are three categories open to schools – one each for primary, secondary, and special schools.
The competition is one of the few opportunities available to schools to showcase their work on a national level.
Secondary schools with sixth forms also have the opportunity to compete to represent Wales at Eustory. Eustory host an annual seminar for young people from all over Europe to come together to actively explore issues of European relevance and learn to understand difference.
Cllr Hughes-Griffiths said: “It was wonderful to have the opportunity to see the impressive work done by our youngsters.”
