TRIBUTE bands, proper cider and top-flight sausages made in Wales by home-grown suppliers are making an entrance at our city’s first ever sausage and cider family festival later this month.

Singleton Park’s the venue for the event on Sunday July 26 which will see top tribute bands like Born Jovi (Bon Jovi), One Vision (Queen) and the Really Hot Chilli Peppers (Red Hot Chilli Peppers) entertaining visitors alongside Swansea bands like Plastic Sam and Son of Jack.

The event lasts from 11am to 9pm.

Cllr Robert Francis-Davies, Swansea Council’s Cabinet Member for Enterprise, Development and Regeneration, said: “Swansea’s first Sausage and Cider Festival demonstrates the diversity of what’s on offer for residents and visitors alike this summer.

“Singleton Park is playing host to a whole range of great family events this summer and it’ll provide a great backdrop for this new initiative.”

Festival organisers are keen to create an event that encompasses the very best aspects of a summer festival, along with fantastic food and an extensive range of ciders and ales.

There will also be an extensive range of gourmet sausages on offer from a selection of top suppliers and local Welsh sausages from The Handmade Sausage Company.

Also on hand will be activities for children including crafts, rides, face painters and entertainers, children’s TV and film characters as well as competitions, children’s rides, and inflatable attractions.

Event organisers Mohammed Pasha and Jimmy Dean said: “We’re delighted with the interest shown so far and ticket sales are going well. It’s shaping up to be a fantastic day with fun and entertainment for everyone to enjoy. Singleton Park is in the heart of Swansea and we hope to bring everyone together.”

Tickets for Swansea Sausage & Cider Festival start from £7 for adults and are on sale from www.sausageandciderfestival.com
