Iāve met several people here in Llanelli now and I have to say I am surprised that no one seems to be bothered about the local beach. I understand that you are all probably used to it but donāt take it for granted. Go show your beach some love!
The beach is one of natureās simplest antidepressant and the fresh sea breeze definitely helps with insomnia. The sand is a gentle natural exfoliant and the sea has minerals that promote healthy skin.
North Dock is the local beach here, and it’s fantastic for me as it only takes 10 minutes to walk to but I have seen a bus stop outside so Iām assuming itās easy to get to from most places. The only thing that the beach lacks is public toilets for when the cafe is closed so if youāre out with the family iād advise to go during opening hours. Iāve sat and had a sandwich and coffee in the cafe, well made and fairly prices. I went when it was quite quiet so I imagine delays happen when it is busy, but sit outside and enjoy the view while youāre waiting. The information stands I find are useful, you may come across something that you havenāt been or done in a while.
Swansea is just down the road. Did you know Three Cliff Bay and Rhossili Bay are in the top beaches in Europe? I took a visit to Rhossili Bay on Sunday and it was truly beautiful. You will need to get mens and womens beachwear for these trips to the beach. Itās so lovely to drive to a secluded area where there are few houses. I stepped out of the car and this was my first view:
It was a 5-10 minute walk from the car park to the edge of the cliff, to which you can walk down and get to the island you can see in the distance. There are set times you can do this because when the tide comes in itās too high to walk to safely. I didnāt do this as I wasnāt wearing the correct shoes but next time I go I make sure to. After taking in the scenery for a while we took a walk back to the main area, stopped off and had a drink at the Worms Head Hotel. Reasonably priced and fantastic views. Took a walk down onto the beach which wasnāt too crowded and dog friendly. We found a nice little bay to sit and bathe with some beautiful authentic shipwreck aesthetics.
I give credit to the iPhone6 camera for the brilliant colour as iām unfamiliar with photoshop and editing. I look forward to visiting Three Cliff Bay. Please drop a message to us if you have any suggestions on where to visit.
Wherever you go make sure you get suncream as even on windy cloudy days you can still get burnt. I have learnt this the hard way. In Home Bargains they do a 500ml bottle of 30SPF suncream called āNO-adā for Ā£2.50. Canāt go wrong there! Hayfever is quite bad driving towards Rhossili and be careful of the free roaming animals.
