Residents in Pencader recycled almost four tonnes of waste at a recent amnesty.
A further two tonnes of non-recyclable waste and 253 car tyres were also disposed of at the
waste and tyre amnesty held at Ysgol Caer’r Felin.
Householders could also pick up replacement food bins and blue recycling bags at the event and had the chance to buy a half-price compost bin.
Executive Board Member for Technical Services Cllr Hazel Evans said: “I am delighted to hear the amnesty was such a success with 61% of waste recycled going towards our recycling targets and reducing the amount of rubbish going to landfill.”
