Leader of Neath Port Talbot Council, Councillor Ali Thomas OBE said:
“I am delighted that the European Lifesaving Championships has chosen Aberavon Beach as one of the main venues for its first ever visit to Wales.
“Aberavon Seafront has benefitted from a series of developments in recent years, including a new skateboard park, the sunken gardens, the toddler play area and the adventure playground. All of these things combined with 5km of golden sand make Aberavon beach an attraction it its own right and the Championships will provide an excellent opportunity to showcase the area to visitors from the 17 countries taking part.”
