Haverfordwest is proving a popular place to invest, with more than one in 10 properties at a new development in the town being snapped up to let.
Persimmon Homes West Wales has enjoyed huge success with its Castleton Court development in Withybush Road, where there are just a few properties left to sell.
Sharon Robinson, sales director at the business, said seven of the 68 units had been purchased by investors operating in the buy to let market.
She said: “Our Castleton Court development has proved very popular with all sorts of different people, which is no surprise as it’s in a fantastic location.
“We’ve enjoyed above average sales from investors who have been snapping up our stunning homes to rent out. The purchasers have not necessarily been big-money investors with a portfolio of properties across Wales, but more often retirees looking for a way to invest lump sums from things like pensions.
“Haverfordwest is widely acknowledged as the hub of Pembrokeshire, so it’s easy to see why people are choosing to invest their money in the town.
“The investors have been quickly able to rent out their properties so the demand is clearly there.”
The development has also proved popular with people working at Withybush General Hospital, which is within walking distance, young families and downsizing retirees.
There is a small selection of three bedroom semi-detached properties still available at Castleton Court, including The Conway, which comes complete with en suite and downstairs cloakroom.
Persimmon Homes’ Home Change scheme is available at Castleton Court, helping to take the stress out of moving house. Persimmon will agree a price for an existing property, help find a buyer and then manage the sale.
Sharon added: “With Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and St Brides Bay located nearby, Castleton Court is situated ideally for those with a love of the outdoors who wish to make the most of the beautiful beaches and unspoilt countryside.”
