HAVE PRIDE IN YOUR PATCH – COMMUNITY EVENTS NEAR YOU!

Families across Carmarthenshire are being given the chance of doing something good for their community, and get rewarded for their efforts.

Carmarthenshire County Council’s Community Engagement Team, part of Housing Services, have organised a series of litter picks and are encouraging local people to get involved.

In return for cleaning up their communities, volunteers will earn Time Credits, which they can save and spend on a host of local and national leisure or educational activities.

Event takes place as follows:

  • Monday, August 17 – Bro Einon, Llanybydder, litter pick and woodland clearance. 10am-2pm, meet by the woodland
  • Wednesday, August 19 – Carway, litter pick and clearance works by the hall. 10am-2pm, meet by the hall
  • Thursday, August 20 – Park Hall, Carmarthen, litter pick and woodland clearance, plus maybe some planting. 10am-1pm, meet by the woodland
  • Monday, August 24 – Maescader, Pencader, litter pick. 10am-12pm, meet in the first car park on the right
  • Wednesday, August 26 – Cae Coed, Llandybie, litter pick. 10am-12pm, meet in the big car park

The Pride In Your Patch project was developed as part of the council’s Carmarthenshire Homes Standard programme, a £220million investment in council homes, gardens and communities.

Originally designed to involve tenants in improvement works on their gardens and outdoor spaces, Pride In Your Patch has since evolved to promote all kinds of community involvement from shared allotments to litter picks in an effort to instil civic pride.
