THERE’S a musical theme to Botanics in Bloom in Swansea this summer.
The annual festival runs throughout August and gives visitors of all ages the chance to see the botanical gardens at Singleton Park in full bloom and looking their most spectacular.
And every Sunday throughout the month the fragrant feast of eye-pleasing plants and blooms will be accompanied by beautiful music from a variety of orchestras and bands.
Cllr Mark Child , Swansea Council’s Cabinet Member for Wellbeing & Healthy City, said: “The Botanical Gardens house one of Wales’ premier plant collections, with spectacular herbaceous borders and large glasshouses for everyone to see for free.
“Our parks team put in a lot of hard work to grow and maintain the exotic plants and colourful displays of flowers to make it a really relaxing and inspiring place to visit.
“I hope people will come and enjoy the Sunday music events this month and also take time to enjoy the rest of Singleton Park’s attractions.”
The performances, which take place from 3pm to 5pm, include the Morriston Big Band Sunday August 16, the Constellation Big Band on Sunday August 23 and the Accordion Orchestra on Sunday August 30.
