The council’s recycling team will be in Llanelli town centre on Monday, August 17 to give information and advice.
Officers will be in the St Elli Shopping Centre from 10am to 3pm to help residents with any recycling questions they may have.
They will have information leaflets as well as blue bags and replacement food bins for those that need them.
Residents are being encouraged to recycle from all around the home, not just in the kitchen. Most people regularly recycle items like plastic milk bottles and glass jars, but it’s just as easy to recycle many other items from the bathroom, living room and even the bedroom.
Empty aerosol cans, plastic coat hangers, toilet roll tubes, toothpaste boxes, shampoo/shower gel bottles, bottle tops, receipts and envelopes can all be recycled in your blue bag.
Executive Board Member for Technical Services Cllr Hazel Evans said: “If you have any recycling queries, please go along and speak to the officers, they really want to help.
“They were in Llanelli back in June and had such a great response that they decided to go back again.”
Around 60% of rubbish is being recycled in Carmarthenshire, but Welsh Government has a 70% recycling target for Wales by 2025.
“We are doing really well but if we can do a little bit more by recycling those items that are sometimes forgotten we can really make a huge difference.”
