A new library is set to open its doors in Kidwelly.

Housed in the Gwenllian Centre, the library will open two days a week initially, with plans to extend the service on a voluntary basis.

A mobile library has served the town since the former town council offices closed in 2013 after a car crashed into the side wall.

The council’s executive board member, Cllr Meryl Gravell said: “We’re delighted to bring back a permanent library presence in Kidwelly and hope the community will come together and help out so that we can operate longer hours.”

Opening times are Mon, 9-1pm and Wed, 1-5pm and will start on August 24.

If you have a spare few hours and you would like to help out then please call Steffi James, Outreach Manager on 01554 773538
