The Chairman of Carmarthenshire County Council has unveiled a bench in memory of a popular retired footballer.

Cllr Peter Hughes Griffiths took part in the event in Drefach, Felindre, in memory of Glanville Evans, also known as Gos, who died of cancer last year.

Gos was a legendary player for Bargod Rangers, before managing the first team and reserves and serving as club treasurer.

Cllr Hughes Griffiths said: “Glan, or Gos as everyone knew him, was very active with Bargod Rangers Football Club in Drefach Felindre. The bench was unveiled in Parc Puw on Carnival day in the village recently. It was a pleasure to be back in my old area on this special day.”
