The proposed plan for Ageing Well in Ceredigion reflects the five themes of the Ageing Well in Wales programme and the priorities identified in the Strategy for Older People in Wales; including loneliness and isolation, financial resources, learning and employment, falls prevention, dementia supportive and age friendly communities.
Councillor Catherine Hughes, Ceredigion’s Champion for Older People, said: “We want to ensure older people are well supported in their communities, so that everyone over 50 can lead their lives fully. The Ageing Well in Ceredigion Plan will help us to plan to deliver services that meet the needs of our citizens and ensure that services contribute to a healthy environment, healthier lives and importantly protect those who are vulnerable in the County. Ultimately, we want to ensure that Ceredigion is a great place to grow older. We recognise that we are currently in financially challenging times and we acknowledge that there are important opportunities and benefits from collaborative working that will enable the joint delivery of key actions as identified in this plan.”
The Ageing Well in Ceredigion Plan is available in the Consultations section of the Council’s website, www.ceredigion.gov.uk, or alternatively you can access a hard copy of the plan and response forms in your local library or Council office. This is also available in alternative formats, such as large print or a coloured background should you require.
