A Pembrokeshire cricket club has been awarded the insport Ribbon award.

Pembroke Dock cricket club was presented with its award earlier this month.

Designed by Disability Sport Wales (DSW), the insport programme supports clubs provide sporting opportunities for disabled people.

The club, which already has several disabled members, encourages more children and adults to join by staging special come-and-try events.

Club officials were recently presented with their award by Angela Miles, disability sport officer for Sport Pembrokeshire – the County Council’s sports development service.

She said she was delighted with the club’s achievements and impressed at the level of support for the programme from the club’s coaches and committee.

“It justifies all the hard work and effort they do to encourage as many people as possible to take part in the game,” she said.

There are now 10 insport clubs in Pembrokeshire with a further three working towards the accreditation.
