A Pembrokeshire teenager has proved to be a slam dunk at basketball!
Fifteen year old Harry Thomas from Letterston played for the Wales under-15 basketball team at the recent junior British Championships in Worcester.
The Ysgol Bro Gwaun pupil, who took part in all four games, played a key role in the squad’s best performance to date. They finished fourth and missed out on a bronze medal by just two points.
Angela Miles, disability sport officer for Sport Pembrokeshire – Pembrokeshire County Council’s sports development service – said she was delighted with Harry’s achievement.
“He has improved greatly in strength and speed this year and played exceptionally well,” she said.
“His success is a credit to all the training and commitment he and his family make to the sport.”
And she added that he had also been helped by being given his own basketball sports chair, thanks to the generosity of the Fishguard and Goodwick lnner Wheel Club.
