A LLANELLI woman has been fined £75 for leaving rubbish in the rear lane of Wern Road and Pottery Place.
She was issued with a fixed penalty notice by council environmental enforcement officers.
Failure to pay could result in court prosecution where the maximum fine is £2,500.
Executive Board Member for environmental and Public Protection Cllr Jim Jones said the back lanes were a constant cause of complaint.
“We are continually cleaning up the back lanes but as soon as we do, it isn’t long before they are back in a state again,” he said.
“The only way people will learn is if we take action against them. Unfortunately it is a small minority of people who do not care; but it is not fair on others that have to live there.
“Hopefully this latest fine will serve as a warning to others.”
