A Planning Inspector has upheld a decision by Pembrokeshire County Council to refuse permission for two wind turbines in the south of the county.

The appeal by Norvento Wind Energy UK wad dismissed by Kay Sheffield who concluded that the erection of the 35 metre tall turbines south of the B4320 Hundleton to Angle road would have an unacceptably harmful effect on the character of the landscape and visual amenity of the area.

She also ruled that the proposed turbines would be detrimental to the setting of the nearby Corston Beacon Tumulus which is a designated Scheduled Ancient Monument.

The Inspector declined a request from Norvento to determine the appeal on the basis of a single turbine. She said she was concerned that some of the consultees involved in the appeal would not be aware of the amended scheme.
