Scarlets have today issued a medical update as we prepare for the third round of the Guinness PRO12, against Zebre Rugby, on Sunday 4th October.

Will Boyde
Scarlets’ young flanker Will Boyde suffered medial ligament damage to his knee at the region’s friendly against the Dragons in August. Following complex surgery to his foot the flanker is expected to be out for up to 16 weeks.

Steffan Evans
Fullback Evans has suffered a dislocation to his left elbow and is likely to be sidelined for up to 10 weeks.

Steffan Hughes
Former Wales Under 20s captain Steffan Hughes underwent knee reconstruction surgery in January after an injury sustained playing for Llanelli RFC. He is ahead of schedule and is targeting a return in December.

Rhodri Jones
The Welsh international prop suffered a torn pec during World Cup training. He is following a rehabilitation programme at Parc y Scarlets and is expected to make a return in November.

Wyn Jones
Loosehead prop Jones sustained a knee injury during pre-season training. Having undergone corrective knee surgery the Llandovery product has returned to full scrimmaging and will progress this week with running and intensive rehabilitation. He will return to full rugby training next week.

Josh Lewis
Outside half Lewis underwent knee reconstruction surgery; he is continuing to progress well and is on course to return in October.

Jack Payne
Australian forward Payne suffered an ankle injury in Llanelli RFC’s defeat to Pontypridd last week and went under the knife on Tuesday 15th September.

Rory Pitman
Number 8 Rory Pitman suffered a ruptured bicep (left arm) on Saturday 19th September whilst representing Llandovery in the regional clash against Llanelli RFC. He has undergone surgery and is likely to be sidelined for up to 16 weeks.

Harry Robinson
Top try scoring winger Harry Robinson underwent surgery to a significant neck injury at the end of the last season. He has returned to non-contact training and will continue his progression to contact over the coming weeks. Robinson is close to making a return.

Michael Tagicakibau
Winger Tagicakibau was a late absentee from Scarlets’ first home game of the season on Saturday having pulled up in the pre-match warm-up with a hamstring strain. He is available for selection for Sunday’s clash against Zebre.

Rhodri Williams
Scrum half Williams suffered a knock to the head in the opening round of the Guinness PRO12 campaign against Glasgow and will follow return to play protocols.
