A feast of culinary delights will very soon be tantalising the taste buds at the seventh annual Neath Food and Drink Festival once again, thanks to funding from the Welsh Government. The Welsh Government has awarded funding of almost £5,000 for this year’s extended festival which will take place over three days on Friday 2nd, Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th October.

The 2015 festival will be the biggest yet and will host around over 80 exhibitors at its newly extended three-day event. There will be great variety of stalls and there’s sure to be something to tempt everyone – from traditional Welsh artisan cheeses and homemade cakes to spicy chutneys and plenty of sweet treats. Vegetarian, vegan, diabetic and gluten free diets are all catered for too.

There will be more exhibitors from the borough of Neath Port Talbot than ever before including four exhibitors from the town’s Victorian Market, two breweries and award winning desserts.

The Street Food Zone is back once again at Angel Square with a variety of cuisine on offer including Thai, Spanish, Indian, French, Jamaican and even Argentinian.

The ever popular Champagne Marquee and Real Ale Hall are both back for another year and restaurants and cafés in the town are once again joining in the spirit of the festival and are offering themed menus and live entertainment during the weekend.

Visitors will be able to park in the newly completed 600 space multi-storey car park. The new car park is a modern, well lit, spacious and secure facility and is part of the wider regeneration of Neath Town Centre. The vision for the town is to create an attractive, vibrant and competitive town that meets the needs of businesses, shoppers and visitors, whilst retaining its market town character.

Council Leader Ali Thomas said: “Neath Food and Drink Festival is a fabulous event which really showcases not only the fantastic produce we can boast from across the region but also the town of Neath itself.

“I am sure that local traders, as I do, look forward to welcoming visitors from far and wide, and I would like to thank local businesses and residents for the support they have given to the festival. This has been one of the main reasons the event has gone from strength to strength every year”.
