Three people have been fined for littering at the council’s recycling sites.
Fixed penalty notices for £75 have been issued by environmental enforcement officers for offences committed at the recycling banks at Dafen pond in Llanelli and Cross Hands Co-op car park.
Two men were fined for dumping bags containing carpets and computer-related items at the Dafen pond site – the banks only accept glass.
A woman was also fined after leaving pieces of polystyrene on the ground around the recycling banks in Cross Hands Co-op car park.
Failure to pay could lead to court prosecution where the maximum fine is £2,500.
Officers will continue to carry out patrols at sites across the county and use CCTV cameras to monitor sites.
Executive Board Member for Environmental and Public Protection Cllr Jim Jones said: “These sites are important facilities for the local community but all kinds of rubbish are being left. This kind of behavior will not be tolerated and anyone caught will be fined.”
