A new consultation is starting today (Friday) on a review of secondary education provision in Haverfordwest.
It follows a previous statutory consultation on a review of secondary education provision in Mid and North West Pembrokeshire, which included recommendations for Haverfordwest.
New proposals have been put forward for the Haverfordwest element of the review, following an extraordinary meeting of Council in September.
Members of the public are asked to give their views on the following recommendations:
discontinue Sir Thomas Picton and Tasker Milward VC schools
establish a new 11-16 English medium secondary school in Haverfordwest, with ALN (Alternative Learning Needs) provision for pupils with complex learning needs
provide post 16 provision for the above school in a new sixth form centre as part of a formal collaboration between the County Council and Pembrokeshire College.
As this is a new consultation on new proposals, responses given by members of the public to the previous statutory consultation will not be taken into account.
Pembrokeshire County Council voted in approval of consultation on the recommendations yesterday
