Have your say on active maps

There is now only one month to go before the closing date of the Active Travel consultation with responses welcomed by Pembrokeshire County Council by the 4th December.
Active travel focuses on walking and cycling rather than driving.
Every local authority in Wales is required to plan such routes within its larger towns and communities as a result of the Active Travel (Wales) Act of 2013.
It’s the first law in the world to ensure that planners consider the needs of walkers and cyclists and aims to make it easier for people to travel actively around the country.
Now the Council wants to hear people’s views on existing walking and cycling routes in the county.
Routes have to be suitable for journeys to and from workplaces, educational establishments, health, leisure or other services or facilities and do not include routes used only for recreation.
People wanting to take part in the consultation can fill in a questionnaire found at: www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk/haveyoursay
This will enable the Council to finalise its Existing Route Map before submitting it to the Welsh Government for consideration.
Anyone wanting a hard copy can contact the County Council by telephone on 01437 764551.
