AWARD WINNING SAUSAGE PRODUCERS SET UP STALL

A Carmarthenshire couple who breed and rear their own livestock have expanded their business and started trading at Llanelli Outdoor Market.

Neil and Emma Rose who own Rhosyn Farm which is located north of Carmarthen, sell Old Spot Pork, Guernsey goat meat, Hereford beef and Herdwick Lamb, hogget and mutton as cooked street food at their stall every Thursday.

Their sausages and bacon are award winning having received six Gold Awards at the annual sausage competition at the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show’s Winter Fair last year.

Shoppers in town can be tempted by a choice of 10 different flavoured pork sausages and different speciality taster days.

Rhosyn can also be found at Carmarthen outdoor market every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Neil said: “We hold different speciality days, from Bacon and Brie, to Pulled Pork and Goat Curry days.
“Our goat meat is proving very popular in Carmarthen market and we tend to sell out by 11am most weeks so we’re expecting the same in Llanelli.
“We started trading in Carmarthen Farmers market every Friday two years ago and it’s increased since.
“We’re looking forward to our new venture and trading in Llanelli outdoor market on Thursdays.”

Along with the cooked street food the couple will also be bringing their cold counter to Llanelli outdoor market.

Emma has recently been asked to become an ambassador with Welsh Pork and Rhosyn is one of 14 ambassadors chosen to feature on the new Porc.Wales website, which has been created to showcase the fantastic pork that Wales produces.

Emma said: “We take pride in breeding our own stock, outdoor rearing and giving our animals the best of quality of care and attention during their time on Rhosyn farm.”

The council’s executive board member responsible for the markets, Cllr David Jenkins, said: “It’s great to see a Carmarthenshire business such as Rhosyn expanding and trading from another of our outdoor markets. I would like to wish them the best of luck in the future at both Carmarthen and Llanelli outdoor markets.”
