First Minister, Carwyn Jones, said: “We stand in solidarity with the people of France today, following the horrific events in Paris.”

“This was a cowardly attack on people going about their daily lives, attending a football match, attending a concert – none of these people should ever be a target for violence. This was not done in the name of any religion, this was done in the name of terror. These actions will appal people of all religions and none, and we cannot let these events divide us.

“Earlier today I joined the COBRA teleconference and spoke with the Prime Minister, the First Minister for Scotland and the Northern Ireland Secretary. We are firm and united in our commitment to protecting the people of this country, and our way of life. The security level remains the same, but we remain vigilant.”
