In recognition of its many years of fund-raising, Neyland Ladies Choir were guests at a reception in County Hall, Haverfordwest, on Tuesday evening.
The choir has a distinguished 38-year history with its first President being the late Lord Parry of Neyland, a role now filled by County Councillor Simon Hancock.
Since 1977, the choir has raised many thousands of pounds for worthy causes both in Pembrokeshire and further afield.
In July, for instance, a concert collected nearly £700 for a kindergarten in Kenya.
The current Chair is Noreen Hadfield and the Musical Director for the past 20 years has been Lynne Kelleher.
It’s only male member is accompanist, Peter Griffiths, described by his fellow members as “the bravest man in Pembrokeshire.”
During the visit, the choir performed several musical items, including the hymn, Calon Lan, to the delight of their host, Pembrokeshire County Council Chairman, Wynne Evans.
