Swans fans could be parking closer than ever to the action for upcoming Premier League games against the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City.
Swansea Council has extended the deadline to apply for a discounted £60 car parking pass at the Landore Park and Ride site until Sunday December 13.
The offer is valid from the match against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday December 26. It also covers the remaining nine home Premier League games at the Liberty Stadium this season after that, including clashes against Aston Villa, Southampton and Crystal Palace.
One pass will be allocated per car as part of the scheme, which works out at £6 a match.
Cllr David Hopkins, Swansea Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment and Transportation, said: “This is win-win for Swans fans and the council. Not only does the scheme give fans affordable, safe parking within easy walking distance of the Liberty Stadium, but it also helps the council generate income at a time when we’re facing budget cuts and are looking to protect as many services as possible for people right across Swansea.
“We’ve also listened closely to the congestion concerns people who live close to the stadium have on matchdays, which is why only one pass will be allocated per car as part of the scheme. We hope this will cut down on traffic by encouraging car sharing.
“This could make a great Christmas gift for a Swans fan you know.”
Cards to access the Park and Ride site will be sent out to the address supplied when applying for the parking permit, which will arrive by Friday December 18. Match day parking will be available for two hours both before kick-off and after the final whistle.
Cup games aren’t included in the offer but the Park and Ride site will be opened for cup matches.
