At Christmas we always tend to look back at the past year and look ahead to the year to come. What kind of year did you have this year? Does anything special stand out?
From my perspective of course it’s a year like I’ve never experienced before, as I’ve been Chairman of Carmarthenshire County Council, and through that I’ve had the honour of travelling around the county attending events and meeting so many people.
For me, one particular thing has made a big impression on me – and that is all the varied activity that takes place in our county. There are societies, organisations, clubs, charities, choirs and all sorts of cultural activities.
Carmarthenshire is an excellent example of the vitality of local society. This has without doubt heartened me and long may that last throughout 2016 and into the future.
A Happy Christmas and New Year to you all
Chair of Carmarthenshire County Councillor Peter Hughes-Griffiths
