Police can confirm that two males, aged 40 and 45 from the Pontyberem and Burry Port area, have been arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage in connection with the investigation into a number of vehicle tyres damaged in the Carmarthenshire area over the weekend

The incidents occurred sometime overnight on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th December in the Carmarthen town, Llangunnor, Pontyberem, Cwmffrwd and Llandyfaelog areas.

Sergeant Darren Morgan said

“I would like to thank the public for the information provided to police which has led to the arrest of two males.

“I am aware that a number of threats of retribution have been made on social media and I would ask that members of the public do not take matters into their own hands and let police deal with the matter.

” I would also ask that care is taken on what is said on social media to ensure that the justice process is not affected or compromised.

“Local officers will be keeping the owners of the vehicles damaged updated.”

Anyone with information that could help the investigation is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
