CETMA, a volunteer led social enterprise based in Llanelli has bagged £2000 courtesy of ASDA’s Carrier Bag Community Awards scheme.

The scheme, which was administered by the Community Foundation in Wales saw 180 awards of £2,000 given to organisations with a charity focus working with children and young people, older people, health and/or community cohesion.

The Community Foundation in Wales coordinated and advised on the awards, with regional selection panels of Asda colleagues voting on which projects benefit, ensuring the awards are as locally relevant as possible.

Jonathan Williams Managing Director of CETMA said:

“We applied, like we do for a lot of grants and were successful. Now we’re over the moon to receive £2000 to help fund our organisation.”

“People don’t realise that we’re all volunteers and the organisation doesn’t receive any core funding from local or the Welsh government. We tend to fund our projects ourselves too because the ideas come from our volunteers.

“This award is dedicated to the hard work of all the volunteers!”
