Scarlets Premiership Select Head Coach Dai Flanagan has named his side for the final pool game of the British & Irish Cup campaign against Bedford Blues.

With four wins out of five Bedford Blues will be looking for a home victory to secure their place in the quarter finals of the competition with Scarlets XV looking for a second victory to finish the campaign on a high.

Last weekend’s home fixture, which was moved to Clifton Rugby due to a waterlogged pitch at Llandovery, saw Scarlets put in a solid performance to come within a point of Bristol after the disappointment of the second round clash.

Speaking ahead of the final pool round Flanagan said: “It was pleasing to see the boys put in a decent shift last weekend and put up a big fight against a very experienced Bristol side.

“As we’ve stated throughout, this competition gives the region’s young players an opportunity to challenge themselves against very strong sides. These experiences will benefit the young players as they look to continue their development and stake a claim in the senior regional side.

“We’re expecting a tough challenge against Bedford as they’ll be looking for a victory to progress through to the knock-out stages but we’re just as keen to finish the competition on a high.”
